❋ Sarah Riley Theatre

50 Elderslie Street, Winton

The Sarah Riley Theatre, located within the Waltzing Matilda Centre, is the primary venue for daytime film screenings.

This modern, comfortable theatre provides an excellent viewing experience and hosts a range of Australian feature films, documentaries and short films throughout the festival.

It’s centrally located on the end of the main street in Winton and within easy walking distance of other festival venues.

Evening screenings take place at Winton’s much-loved Royal Theatre.

This open-air cinema is one of Vision Splendid’s most iconic venues, offering audiences the chance to watch films beneath wide outback skies. As the sun sets and the stars come out, the Royal becomes a truly memorable place to experience Australian cinema.

Warm layers are recommended for evening sessions, particularly later in the festival.

Lot 1 Dinosaur Drive, Corfield (Winton)

The Australian Age of Dinosaurs is one of Winton’s most iconic attractions and a truly unforgettable setting for Vision Splendid’s Evening with the Stars events.

Perched on a mesa just outside town, the museum is home to some of Australia’s most significant dinosaur discoveries and offers sweeping views across the surrounding outback landscape. As the sun sets, guests gather beneath the stars to mingle, enjoy the atmosphere and share conversation in a setting unlike any other.

Breakfast with the Stars takes place in the outdoor beer garden at the historic Winton Hotel.

Set beneath gum trees and open morning skies, guests gather for a relaxed sit-down breakfast with tea, coffee and juice as the outback day begins. The atmosphere is intimate and informal, creating the perfect setting for thoughtful conversation, audience questions and meaningful connection with festival guests.

It’s a calm, generous way to start the day, and a much-loved Vision Splendid experience.

Crack Up Sisters’ Home Grounds

The Dustarena, located at the home of the Crack Up Sisters, is one of Vision Splendid’s most uniquely outback venues.

Set on red dirt under open skies, the Dustarena hosts lively festival events filled with humour, music and unmistakable Winton character. It’s informal, energetic and a true celebration of local talent, a place where the festival’s playful spirit really comes to life.

Getting between venues

Winton is a compact, walkable town and most venues are within easy reach of one another. Many festival-goers enjoy moving between screenings on foot, allowing time to explore the town and connect with fellow attendees along the way.
